Good news for chemist (medical shopkeeper)

Now a direct FIR will not be registered against drug vendors. The Drug Department has to take action only under the Drug Act. Instructions have been issued in this regard during the hearing of a case filed in the High Court. In this regard, Chief Secretary (Uttar Pradesh) Himanshu Kumar has issued instructions to all the District Magistrates.
In the petition filed in the High Court, citing the direction of the court, it is stated that the first information report can not be filed under section 18-27 of the Drugs and Cosmetics Act, 1940. For offenses under Section-18 of the Drugs and Cosmetics Act, 1940, a family can be filed in the competent court by the Drug Inspector.
